Student Job Opportunities - Huxley, Iowa

Monsanto Huxley is located just off Interstate 35 and Highway 210 between Ankeny and Ames. Built in 2006, Huxley is home to one of Monsanto’s largest plant breeding facilities in North America. Every year Monsanto Huxley hires approximately 250 seasonal employees who are all critical to Monsanto’s success. The Huxley station is dedicated to quality and safety and in 2013 received OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) certification.

The Huxley Breeding Team is seeking applicants for seasonal employment. Many positions are available during the summer months with the majority of them being with the summer pollinating crew.

Pollinating typically starts in July and continues into August. All persons are encouraged to apply, no experience is necessary and training is provided. Other job duties may include, but are not limited, to leaf tissue sampling, plant tagging, weeding fields, and volunteer monitoring.

  • Ability to stand, sit, or bend for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in summer conditions for extended periods of time

The minimum age requirement for pollinators in Iowa is 14 years. There are also a limited number of seasonal positions available throughout the rest of the year.
