We are incredibly proud to be selected as one of Fortune Magazine’s Most Admired Companies. The reason we are selected for the fourth year in a row is dedication of our employees and the support of our farmer customers.

Every year Fortune® selects World's Most Admired companies for its list by using nine key attributes of reputation. We feel that the select examples below help tell our story as a business:

“Quality of products and services offered”

Monsanto sells seeds and services to farmers. Our employees work hard to bring new technology to our customers to help them to produce more, conserve more and improve their lives. Our product and service offerings range from new seeds to special projects helping farmers in developing countries improve their agronomic practices:

“Innovativeness”

To stay ahead of the game, companies must continually innovate. Monsanto’s innovation stems from its research and development pipeline. All of our products go through testing and re-testing in order to deliver the best seeds to farmers to help them grow food. Our pipeline is highlighted here:

  • Annual Pipeline Update
More than 22,000 Monsanto employees focus on delivering innovative and sustainable products to farmers around the world that help to improve yields while using fewer inputs. These products get their start in our research and development pipeline, where our researchers look to bring the best seeds to farmers’ fields. Our robust pipeline spans more than a dozen crops and technologies in different phases of development. These products find a place in one of four areas of the pipeline—breeding, biotechnology, agronomics and new technology platforms.

“Ability to attract, develop, and keep talented people”

Monsanto offers competitive pay and benefits around the world, excellent development opportunities and a great working environment. Ensuring our employees have the tools to be successful is an important part of our culture. We provide a wide range of benefits aimed at meeting the diverse needs of our employees around the globe. More than 20,000 employees around the world in 67 countries work for Monsanto. More than half of our employees are based outside of the United States.

  • Impactful Careers: Meet Laura
Meet Laura, a geneticist and a mom who is passionate about being a part of the solution to feeding a growing world. "To help people globally have access to a more balanced meal, and especially in our region which primarily consists of developing countries, I work on corn seed technology. That corn seed is part of an effort to support the growing demands of food and animal feed markets, as well as supporting the direct needs of farmers and their families."

“Responsibility to the community and/or the environment”

Agriculture is one of those industries that has an impact everywhere. And just about everything we and our customers do touches the environment. So we take our commitment to the communities and the environments where we work, live, operate and play seriously. We have several projects that help our communities grow and protect the environment:

  • America’s Farmers Grow Communities
Since launching in 2010, the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, has invested $635,000 toward rural hunger-related organizations. Farmers are selected as winners and choose a local non-profit organization for their donation. Food pantries, many of which are operated by local churches and community relief centers, are one of the top hunger-related recipients of the grants.
