Why do you work at Monsanto?
If someone were to ask why you work at Monsanto, I would say that I am passionate about feeding the world - I love to cook and the subject of food and feeding the world sustainably is very close to my heart. I also love working with some amazing people! I enjoy having a flexible work schedule and the fact that I am being held accountable for my work, which leads me to feeling a great sense of success in my role of a Latin America Operations Lead.
What does your work entail?
On a daily basis I coordinate, plan and implement resources for Breeding sites in Latin America. Some of my other job responsibilities include budgeting and forecasting expenses, capital and headcount; leading operations meetings and working on the overall strategy in the region.
How does your role at Monsanto relate to your military experience?
I was United States Air Force, a Transportation Specialist (active duty for 4 years). I served 2 years at Hickam AFB, HI and then 2 years at Lambert St. Louis airport under special duty assignment. Today, my daily responsibilities are very different. However, respect for authority, complete work as assigned, team work – all of it and many more skills that I learned in the military have helped me in my civilian career.
