Whether you live in a big city or a small town, agriculture plays a critical role in your daily life.

Today, as the world’s population continues to grow and our climate changes, the role of agriculture and farmers is more important than ever.

Monsanto scientists around the globe are working hard to provide farmers with solutions that will help them have better harvests using the same amount of land. We are passionate about this work. It’s what we do.

Recently, Monsanto announced its annual research and development pipeline update.

Meet three of the Monsanto scientists who work on the R&D pipeline:

Kelsey, Plant Pathologist

Kelsey helps provide farmers with the tools they need to grow healthy crops. She also runs a diagnostic clinic for soybeans, meaning, if a plant “catches a cold,” she helps growers understand what happened and offers solutions. Learn more about Kelsey and what she does as a Monsanto scientist.

Anil, Entomologist

Anil grew up growing rice, millet, vegetables and other crops on his family’s small farm in Southern India. He was inspired to become an entomologist after seeing first-hand the difficulties pests can cause farmers. Through his work at Monsanto, he helps farmers grow crops more sustainably.

Laura, Geneticist

Laura is a geneticist working on corn. She helps farmers around the world who are working to protect their crops from significant challenges such as drought and disease. With her team, Laura helps these farmers implement cutting-edge technologies that enable them to grow higher-performing hybrids faster than before.
