Welcome to the Innovation Center at UIUC

We are committed to fostering innovation through education and are proud to introduce the Innovation Center located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) Research Park.

We believe that by partnering with students we will advance modern agriculture’s growth in emerging technologies and capabilities in engineering, data science, operations research, phenomics, genomics, plant science, precision breeding and more.

Driving Agricultural Innovations

At the Innovation Center, we use the latest in digital tools and data to drive agricultural innovations which increase efficiency and reduce the amount of water, land, and energy necessary to meet the world’s food fuel and fiber needs.

We offer students an opportunity to focus on collaborative and innovative projects that are designed to facilitate their professional development.

Calling ALL Students

We’re looking for students with a passion to create and develop innovative solutions by applying cutting edge advances in machine learning and Artificial Intelligence to solve agricultural challenges. The Innovation Center is looking for Data Scientists, Electrical Engineers, UX Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, Image Sensor Scientists and more.

Students eligible for employment must be full-time students with reliable transportation who are available to work 10-20 hours a week during the academic year and 35-40 hours a week during the summer.

Do you possess great interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact well with a team as well as work independently? Are you self-motivated? Do you have strong detail and results orientation with demonstrated strong problem solving?

If so, please apply at jobs.monsanto.com/innovationcenter.

More on our Commitment to Innovation

Environmental Sustainability

We only have one Earth to provide for our needs today and tomorrow. That’s why it’s so important to preserve and protect our natural environment while growing what’s needed to feed a growing global population. Through data and modern agriculture techniques and technologies, we’re helping farmers use fewer natural resources out in the field. Learn more.

Community Outreach

Giving is a natural part of what we do. Through our global volunteer programs, employees generously donate more than 100,000 hours annually to support local communities. We support a wide-range of capital projects, with priority given to those that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), malnutrition, and economic growth within the biosciences. Additionally, we have supported disaster relief efforts as well as initiatives that not only have broad impact, but also have the potential to transform communities. As a company, we are committed to making lives better and moving agriculture forward. Learn more.

Data Science and Agriculture

We’re working to create tools to help farmers collect and analyze data about their land and resources. This allows farmers to maximize the effectiveness of all the tools they use. From seed genetics to environmental conditions, anything that affects farm production will be able to be measured and analyzed. Digital technology is already helping farmers collect information in the field. It is expected to someday allow them to monitor each plot of land to determine precisely what it needs to produce crops that thrive, while reducing the use of resources that are not necessary to support the crop. Learn more.

The Climate Corporation

The Climate Corporation aims to help all the world’s farmers sustainably increase their productivity through the use of digital tools. The integrated Climate FieldView digital agriculture platform provides farmers with a comprehensive, connected suite of digital tools. Bringing together seamless field data collection, advanced agronomic modeling and local weather monitoring into simple mobile and web software solutions, the Climate FieldView platform gives farmers a deeper understanding of their fields so they can make more informed operating decisions to optimize yields, maximize efficiency and reduce risk. Learn more.
